Is there a better place for urban runners than Central Park? Maybe Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. But they don’t have New York around them… Despite the influx of clueless tourists and reckless pedicabs, taking some of the charm out of the southern half, I am still in love with our park – its silence, trails, hills, water, air, greenery, majesty and sheer size. Not a bad place to finish a marathon.
This week I took my camera at sunrise for images I might use in my book. I probably won’t, so let me share them here. The arrival of the first light is a great time on any summer day, when Central Park comes alive with runners and walkers and bikers. All of us consider it our backyard. Because it is.
